Game-Day Communication

06What types of calls can I send with LOCKED IN?
LOCKED IN supports pitch and location calls along with supported offensive and defensive instructions, giving coaches multiple game-day communication tools within the same workflow.
07Can I send a call only to certain players?
Yes. Coaches can target all connected watches, specific field positions, or a custom group so an instruction does not have to be sent to every player.
08Does every player have to receive every call?
No. Targeted communication lets the coach choose who needs a supported instruction.
09How do players receive a call?
Players receive supported instructions through the LOCKED IN watch app on connected watches using the same local game-day Wi-Fi network.
10Does LOCKED IN keep score or track balls, strikes, outs, and innings?
No. LOCKED IN is not a scorekeeping system and does not maintain the game’s ball-and-strike count. When using AI Situation Builder, the coach can manually enter relevant game information—such as the inning, outs, runners, and score situation—to provide context for the recommendations.
11Does LOCKED IN replace my scorebook or scoring app?
No. Continue using your normal scorebook, scoring app, or tournament system. LOCKED IN is focused on game-day communication, coaching coordination, and decision support.
12Do I have to enter the game situation before every call?
No. Normal pitch, location, offensive, and defensive communication does not require you to maintain the game’s count or continually enter game state. Situation information is entered when you choose to use features such as AI Situation Builder that need that context.
13What if wireless communication is interrupted during a game?
As with any electronic game-day communication system, coaches should maintain a backup communication method and be prepared to use it if the local network or a connected device becomes unavailable.

Devices & Connectivity

14Does LOCKED IN require internet during a game?
LOCKED IN is designed for game-day communication over a local Wi-Fi network. An active internet connection is not required for normal in-game communication between the host device and connected LOCKED IN watches. Internet access may still be needed for certain account, licensing, update, voice, or other online services outside normal game-day communication.
15Do the watches need cellular service?
No. Cellular service is not required for normal local game-day communication. Connected LOCKED IN watches communicate through the local Wi-Fi network used for the game-day setup.
16Do the watches have to be paired to the tablet?
No traditional Bluetooth-style pairing process is required for the normal LOCKED IN game-day workflow. Watches connect to the same local Wi-Fi network and run the LOCKED IN watch app.
17What smartwatches has LOCKED IN been tested with?
LOCKED IN has been developed and field-tested using Samsung Galaxy Watch4-series watches. These are the watches currently used during LOCKED IN development and live game-day testing. Additional smartwatch compatibility will be evaluated and documented as LOCKED IN approaches public launch.

19Which tablets and phones are supported?
LOCKED IN is being prepared for supported Android and iOS devices. An official compatibility list will be published as LOCKED IN approaches public launch. Check the latest compatibility guidance before purchasing equipment specifically for LOCKED IN.
20What type of Wi-Fi network or router does LOCKED IN use?
LOCKED IN uses a local Wi-Fi network for game-day communication. Development and field testing have included a GL.iNet Flint 2 router/access point as part of the local game-day setup. LOCKED IN does not require that specific router, and additional recommended network configurations will be documented as testing continues.
21Do I need a special router?
LOCKED IN needs a reliable local Wi-Fi network for game-day communication, but it is not limited to one specific router model. The GL.iNet Flint 2 is one configuration used during development and field testing. Additional setup recommendations will be provided as testing continues.
22How many watches and coaching devices can I connect?
